A 21-year-old man has been gunned down in front of terrified children in a gangland shooting.
The murder is being investigated by police who believe the incident, which happened in the town of Worcester in Western Cape Province, south-western South Africa, was "gang-related".
Sergeant Julian Plaatjies from said the incident happened at around 11am with the incident caught on camera by a terrified local.
The sickening footage shows tiny children in the near vicinity as a capped gunman strides down the street wielding a gun.
In the video, the man can be seen chasing another in a red shirt while holding a gun and shooting at him.
Gunshot is then heard and the victim collapses to the ground, clearly dead.
Children are then heard screaming in terror, trying to run away from the scene, as the shooter turns and runs out of the complex.
Footage shows most people running away from the victim, who is lying in a pool of blood. Some go over to him to help him.
Police would not be drawn on whether any arrests had been made as yet, but investigations are ongoing.
