This is the moment a thug grabs a spanner to try and smash the window of a driver’s car as a terrified child cries in fear in the back seat.

The shocking incident was recorded from inside the car in the North Riding suburb of the city of Johannesburg in the South Africa’s Guateng province.

In the video, a man can be seen aggressively smacking the windows of a car and trying to open the doors as the driver records from inside.

A child can be heard crying in the back of the car and the thug then grabs a spanner and uses it to bang on the windows as the youngster cries “mama”.

The thug hits the window a few more times as the child into screams before the driver begins to pull away and the footage ends.

The video was posted on social media by user ‘Florence Dambuza-Kgoleng’ and has been viewed over 154,000 times in one day.

The user who posted it claimed her husband and daughter, seven years old, had been in the car during the attack.

The caption claimed the thug had threatened her husband’s life and then followed him to school after the recording finished.

She wrote that her spouse and daughter had to drive onto school property out of fear for their safety.

It is unclear what caused the incident or if a police investigation has been launched.
