Pic Shows: The entire robbery captured on footage; This is the dramatic moment an armed robber smashes a glass security screen in a bookies before jumping behind the counter to steal the takings. The incident was captured on the CCTV security cameras of the betting shop in the town of Maloyaroslavets in north-western Russia's Kaluga Oblast region. The man is seen marching up to the counter and threatening the female sales assistant with a gun while attacking the glass screen with an axe. The woman jumps out of the way as shards of glass fly past her face but she is only inches away from the man as he smashes his way through the screen and jumps over the counter. The woman looks terrified but bravely grabs the cartridge from an office printer and uses it to try to threaten the robber into leaving her alone. She can be heard repeated calling for a security guard to come and help her but nobody comes to her aid. The robber ignores her and grabs as much cash as he can from the till but he is in such a hurry that he drops much of it on the floor of the shop before fleeing on foot. And, even then, the hapless thief did not get to spend they cash he did steal. Police identified him from the CCTV and arrested him a few hours later and recovered the haul. The man, whose name has not been released, has been charged with armed robbery. The woman sales assistant was shaken but not badly hurt. The investigation is ongoing.
