A shocked Swiss tourist who had just returned from a holiday to Bali rang the cops when he discovered this deadly Scorpion hiding in his luggage.

The man, who was not named because of local privacy laws, had arrived back home from the airport in Zurich when he decided to unpack his luggage and spotted the unwelcome stowaway hiding among souvenirs and clothing.

He said he had managed to trap the scorpion by scooping it up in a cut open plastic bottle.

Police then collected the scorpion and took it to the station where it was put inside a mini terrarium kept for exotic finds.

They are now trying to find somewhere to hand it over that is capable of looking after the scorpion. A local expert said it was an adult Lychas mucronatus, also known as the Chinese swimming scorpion, and could be deadly for children or unhealthy adults.

He added however that for a healthy adult it probably would not be deadly despite being extremely painful.
