The people carrier tries to swerve to avoid the minibus but instead hits the lamppost just as the pedestrian is walking by.

The poor man ends up stuck between the car and the lamppost and is seen falling towards the ground, with his leg still trapped, as the video ends.

A resident, who declined to be named, said: “I was at home when I heard a noise and rushed out. The car hit the man while he was walking. He was left stuck there.”

Eyewitnesses called the emergency services and paramedics quickly arrived to treat the man at the scene before taking him by ambulance to hospital for treatment to his leg injuries.

Both drivers were taken to a nearby police station for questioning after cops launched an investigation into the accident which happened in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul. It remains ongoing.
