Dramatic dashcam footage has captured the moment a lorry crashes into the opposite side of a road while trying to avoid another heavy goods vehicle skidding out of control.

The deadly accident, which has claimed the life of one motorist and left another injured, happened on the streets of Foshan in South China’s Guangdong Province on 13th January.

Dashcam video shows the green tipper lorry swerving violently to the left when the blue heavy goods vehicle in front of it suddenly loses control and skids sideways.

The lorry sideswipes the blue vehicle before crashing through the central reservation, taking out a tree in the process.

Dashcam footage from the opposite side shows the lorry carrying the tree as it veers into oncoming traffic.

The tipper lorry crashed into a further three cars on the other side of the road, including a Lexus saloon whose driver died after its roof was crushed.

Authorities say the second victim was taken to hospital for treatment but suffered minor injuries during the collision.

The tipper lorry driver has been detained as part of the ongoing investigation.

It is unclear whether the driver of the blue lorry will also be held accountable.
