This is the heart-warming moment a kind police officer carries an OAP in his arms after seeing him having difficulties to cross a road.

The kind gesture occurred in the city of Maanshan in the province of Anhui in Eastern China, when the police officer, identified as Jin Yunong, was travelling in a patrol car back to the station with his colleagues.

As they stopped the vehicle on the street Jin reportedly noticed the unnamed pensioner slowly crossing the road with a walking stick.

The video caught on CCTV shows the OAP slowly moving in the middle of the intersection as the police car stops.

Jin then gets out of the vehicle and runs towards the old man.

He grabs him in his arms and begins crossing the street fast.

After arriving on the other side, Jin reportedly assured that the OAP could walk by himself back home.

He said: “I planned to walk by him so we can cross the intersection that way, but then I realised it was too slow for everyone and that it might take a few minutes. I asked for his permission to carry him to the other side.”

“As a police officer I felt that it is a sense of responsibility.” 

After the video spread on social media many netizens have applauded the action of the police officer.

‘Guantang 6944’ commented: “That’s heartwarming. Thumbs up for this policeman.”

And ‘Peiqi Dunfentiaoer’ wrote: “The elderly need more love from society.”

‘Nuan Xiaodouer’ added: “This pensioner shouldn’t be allowed to leave home alone. It is far too dangerous.”
