This is the moment firemen rescue a dog that ended up stuck in a frozen lake during temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius.

The incident took place in Kizilirmak Lake in the province of Sivas in the eastern part of the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, when the dog which was reportedly walking on the ice suddenly fell in the water.

The video shows one of the firemen tied with a safety rope carefully approaching the black dog stuck in the frozen lake.

He then places a stick with a rope around the dog’s neck and ties it up while trying to drag it to safety.

The dog makes an effort as well and after a few seconds it manages to climb on the ice.

Apparently scared, it tries to move and slips few times on the ice as rescuers continue to pull it.

They then tie and drag the dog on a small hill away from the water where they release it.

The dog was rushed to a vet and is stable, according to reports.

Netizen ‘Aysel Yildiz’ commented: “May god bless you, I hope somebody has adopted it and it has found a warm home.”

‘Sebati Kaya’ added: “May god bless the ones that called the firemen.”

And ‘Kadir Kocak’ wrote: “Great job to the ones who saved it, it would have died probably.”
