This is the moment people flee in terror as sword-wielding drunk swings his weapon dangerously on a busy street in Brit tourist hotspot Bali.

The footage shows the man, identified only as 44-year-old Nyoman T. because of local privacy laws, waving the sword frantically as people run away from him on the streets of the popular holiday island’s capital city, Denpasar, in the middle of the afternoon.

A man with a long stick tries to approach the sword-wielding menace but he quickly changes his mind and runs away too.

Cops said the swordsman had chugged down Tuak, a strong local palm wine, leading to his antics.

The incident also reportedly caused traffic chaos on the island as cars and motorcycles reversed in a frantic bid to flee the scene.

A second clip shows a number of men struggling to restrain the man, who was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and put him on the back of a motorcycle.

He was sandwiched between the motorcyclist and another man and driven away from the scene.

A police spokesman told local media: “So this perpetrator was drunk and he said he wanted to fight with someone he didn’t know.”

Nyoman T. was questioned by police and told them he had lost his temper after drinking tuak but could not remember who had upset him.

Police have not yet revealed what charges the man may face over the incident.
