This is the moment a motorist suspected of drink-driving runs over his friend and stops the car on top of him while he was throwing up in front of the vehicle.

The driver surnamed Su, from Xiangtan City in China’s central Hunan Province, was reportedly completely oblivious of the fact and eventually had to be dragged from the driver’s seat by a third friend.

In CCTV footage dated 26th March, the figure of the victim surnamed Xu can be seen bent over the kerb and appears to be throwing up following the drinking session between the three friends and colleagues.

According to reports, Xu had already got into Su’s car when he climbed out again in order to vomit.

But Su was unaware and can be seen reversing off the pavement where he has parked.

Having failed to notice Xu by the roadside, Su drives forwards seconds later, running his friend over.

The third friend, surnamed Huang, gets out the car and can be seen frantically slapping the driver’s side window to stop Xu from driving further.

But the drunk man reverses over his friend and drives forwards onto his body, apparently crushing him a third time.

Huang eventually pulled him from his seat and called the police, who confirmed that Xu later died of fatal crush injuries.

Xu has been charged with drink-driving and will lose his licence.

However, he is also to face manslaughter charges, reports said.
