This is the emotional moment a proud dad breaks down in tears after receiving a football shirt from his favourite team with his daughter’s name on the back ahead of her playing as captain at the club’s stadium.

The emotional scene now going viral was shared online by the proud dad’s daughter Mai Grande, who is captain of Spanish club Osasuna’s women’s team, ahead of the women’s side’s second-ever match at the El Sadar stadium.

In the video, Grande’s father can be seen unwrapping a present from his daughter on his birthday.

He eventually pulls out a shirt from his favourite team, Osasuna, and turns to see his daughter’s name on the back.

The emotional father breaks into tears and hugs his daughter as he weeps.

Grande posted the video online with the caption: “Your dad’s face when you give him a shirt from the team of his soul but for the first time with his daughter’s name on the back and he is able to watch her play in the El Sadar [Osasuna’s stadium]. Because dreams come true, dad.”

The heartwarming clip has received over 2 million views on social media.

Osasuna’s women’s team played only their second match in their history at the El Sadar stadium as they beat Eibar 2-1 to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot in the Second Division. The attendance for the match was 10,250.

Osasuna’s women’s team had previously played in the stadium in 2017 on the 50th anniversary of the stadium opening.
