The Ukraine’s newest minister is a 27-year-old brunette beauty, a far cry from the portly middle-aged look of most of the world’s government figures.
Nataliya Boyko, 27, has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry and will be in charge of projects focused on European Integration and international cooperation.
It is reported that Ms Boyko is a PhD student in law at the Ivan Franko National University, which is located in the city of Lviv, in western Ukraine.
During her studies she did her LLM program at the famous Humbolt University in the German capital of Berlin from 2011 to 2013 and later worked as a consultant at ERM: Environmental Resources Management in Frankfurt am Main.
She also held the position of project manager and support manager at the National Reform Council.
As she has been appointed a minister, she revealed some information about her personal finances. She owns her own flat, which is 140 square metres.
She did not declare any other expensive personal belongings apart from her engagement ring from the iconic jewellery brand Tiffany, and the identity of her lucky fiance is not known.
Last year she bought a new Toyota C-HR, which cost her about 750,000 UAH (22,358 GBP).
But her youth and beauty inspired some unkind comments from some online political pundits.
Netizen ‘lovita-tamita’ said: "Let’s see if it is just another whore in the office or if she is actually capable of achieving something."
And ‘rogerACE’ added: "These eastern European countries really like appointing some young bimbos with very little expertise or knowledge. How can we even talk of admitting them to the European Union? They are making their lovers state officials… not just secretaries."
The world’s youngest government minister is thought to be the United Arab Emirates’ Youth Minister Shamma Al Mazrui, who took up the post in February last year at the age of 22.
