Mexican Migrant Suicide After Deportation From Trumps USA

A Mexican migrant killed himself after he was deported from the USA following President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown, it has emerged.

The victim - named as Guadalupe Olivas Valencia, 45 - hurled himself from a bridge on the road linking Tijuana in Mexico with San Ysidro in California. Some media outlets have named him as Jose Luis Lopez.

Valencia survived the fall and was still conscious when he was rushed to hospital, reports local media.

But he was later declared dead from massive head injuries and a heart attack.

Police sources have told local media that Valencia had recently been deported from the United States.

Investigators are said to have found documents inside a bag he was carrying that had the crest of the US Customs and Border Protection.

President Trump has already toughened up the USA's Customs and Immigration Department's powers to round up and deport illegal migrants.

And he has vowed to continue with his plan to build a border wall between America and Mexico which he wants the Mexican government to pay for.

New guidelines mean that the Department of Homeland Security will be able to snatch any illegal migrant off the streets if they have any kind of criminal conviction, even minor traffic offences.
