A Catholic priest visited a brothel - but it was only to pray for the souls of the sex workers there.
Father Michal Misiak, 41, is known for his unconventional approach to his work, and even drew tears from one of the working girls he visited at the brothel, which is just a minute’s stroll from his church in the central Polish city of Lodz.
Mr Misiak, wearing his cassock, drew odd looks when he went into the brothel. The employees were shocked when he asked them: "May I pray for all of you here?"
One of the women asked him: "And do you know that this an escort agency?" When the priest said that he knew, they allowed him to enter.
The priest wrote on his social media page that he had known about the brothel since he started work in the Lodz parish. He explained: "The house is only 100 metres from the church."
He went on to describe it: "Pink walls of the little rooms, sadness hanging in the air. For months I prayed to come in and meet with these women."
He described a room that he visited, which contained a dance pole and two ladies. He told them: "You know that God loves you? He wants to live in this house, in your souls and bodies."
He added that during the prayer, one lady was crying. During the blessing she made the sign of the cross.
