The boy then begins running diagonally across the road without noticing the speeding bus coming up behind him.
The bus driver, identified as Nguyen Van Tuan, tries to swerve away from the youngster but cannot stop the vehicle knocking the boy to the ground before coming to a halt.
The six-year-old can then be seen walking out from behind the bus seemingly unharmed.
Official sources said the youngster only suffered bruising in the incident, according to reports.
Driver Tuan said he had feared the “worst-case scenario” when the youngster had run in front of his bus but added that he “breathed a sigh of relief” after seeing the boy walk away.
Tuan said that he thinks maybe a loud honk from behind had scared the boy and made him run across the road without looking.
